DoR Ben Toft gives his mod-season report

I would like to wish everybody involved in the club a merry Christmas and a happy new year. We are now 6 months into the season and wanted to reflect on my thoughts.

The senior teams are both having a strong season, we will finish the year with 30 points and 5 points from third in the league, which I believe is a true reflection of our capabilities. We have played fourteen games including the cup and have 10 wins and four loses. I am pleased but I wouldn’t go as far to say I am happy, with losses to Nottingham Casuals and Kesteven it shows how we are still on a big learning curve.

We have some new faces joining us after Christmas a new Head of Department within the physio team who will work with Bec Flannagan and also Luke Bunting who is a strength and conditioner intern from Loughborough. This team will ensure the players will have the best opportunity to return to fitness in optimal condition.

We are working hard raising funds for new gym equipment, which will ensure the development of the great facilities, continues. This will also be of great benefit to the players ensuring we progress both on and off the field.

I am certainly looking forward to 2017 and seeing how this talented group continues to develop. I believe with in the next six months we will have a settled senior section. This will allow to work with the mini and juniors sections of the club.

Best Wishes

Ben Toft
