Coalville’s late show seals the 5 points

A rare away win for the memorial ground sign

Coalville's away fixture last Saturday at Oakham contained part of the teams future as three colts made their debuts for the one's,Ollie James started in the back row with both Kane Jones and Tom Richards on the bench,Coalville also had Joe Rumming back from a long term injury.
The Memorial ground side had the strong breeze behind them as the game got underway at the Showground. The visitors made little use of the elements though as Oakham were first on the scoreboard with a penalty ten minutes in.Coalville levelled matters with a George Blackburn penalty some three minutes later.Jordan Gadsby at scrum half went on a run from a break down on the hosts 10mtr line evading all would be tacklers to score to the right of the posts the conversion was wide after 20 minutes.Midfield play ensued with niether side capitalizing on possession until Oakham made the most of some missed tackles to touch down in the corner, they also missed the conversion as man of the match Liam Nelson charged the kick down.Eight a piece at the interval.
A change for the visitors as Kane Jones entered the fray and what a start for the youngster as from the restart he made inroads into Oakhams half with a great run,Micheal(blue lights) Richmond was on hand to finish off the move,Blackburn added the extra's to put the visitors in front 15-8.The lead lasted just five minutes as the home side hit back with a converted try for 15 all.Into the final quarter with all to play for and Will Quail powered his way over with the help of Sam Masserella,Jake Moretta,Daniel Claypole and Jack Follows, again Blackburn added the extra's 22-15 for the visitors. The tide turned again as the home side stepped up a gear notching a couple of tries in a few minutes to lead 27-22.Tom Richards introduction to senior rugby was a blur for him as no sooner had he come on he was harshly given a yellow card for entering a ruck from the side. With 10 minutes to go and a man down all looked lost for the away side but Eddie Rotstein had other ideas as he crashed over for the bonus point 4th try,Blackburn added the extra's 29-27.Two minutes later Alex Collins went through four tackles to score 34-27.The try of the match went to Coalville's Richmond after Joe Moretta,Will Keeling and Shane Upton-Burton all had their part to play in a sintilating move,Blackburn added the extra two points for the final score of 41-27.
