COALVILLE RFC 31 MARKET BOSWORTH RFC 22
A five star performance from stand in fly half Billy Measures enabled the Memorial ground side to claim victory over their local rivals Market Bosworth.The crowd of around 120 who braved the biting wind last saturday were treated to an entertaining afternoon of rugby.Both sides were committed from the off as big hits were notable as each team searched for an opening,the visitors although in the bottom three pressed first with many phases of controlled forwards play,stought defence by the hosts weathered the storm though.Coalville opened the scoring against the run of the play as Measures intercepted a pass just inside the home half to race away and dot down under the posts,Jack Tointon added the extra two points.Undertered by this Bosworth hit back with a converted try of their own five minutes later.Measures was again on hand to add to the hosts tally as he finished off a move after fifteen minutes for a 12-7 lead.Bosworth levelled the score's ten minutes before the interval with their second try.
The second half got under way and Coalville went on the offensive with Liam Nelson going over in the corner on forty-two minutes.Coalville were now dominating the proceedings with Measures pulling the strings as first Chris Flanagan and then Joe Rumming crashed over on fifty-six and sixty-three minutes respectfully,Will Keeling this time adding the extra's for a 31-12 lead.Coalville were camped on the visitors five metre line for a ten minute period until a yellow card cut the hosts down to fourteen men,this altered the game completely as Bosworth scored two tries in the last few minutes to claim a try bonus point.Final score 31-22.
