Coalville leave comeback too late, as the pacey Harborough backs do the damage early
Coalville were close to pulling off a remarkable victory last weekend, trailing by 17 points with an hour gone the visitors scored 3 tries in the last 15 minutes but time ran out with the hosts hanging on for dear life as the final whistle blew.
Coalville put the home side under tremendous pressure in the opening quarter but squandered many scoring oppertunities to end the half pointless. The home side on the otherhand only entered the Memorial ground sides 22 on two occasions and came away with two tries and a conversion for a 12 point lead at the interval. To add insult to injury the visitors also had two yellow cards shown before the break.
From the kick off Coalville's Liam Nelson
touched down in the corner after Joe Rumming
and Shane Upton-Burton
had made the opening.Harborough then went 17 points ahead with two top class tries in as many minutes.Coalville made two changes after 55 minutes with Wes Syed
and Daniel Hannah
coming on.Ten minutes later Rumming grabbed an excellent try with Will Keeling
adding the conversion for the visitors.Harborough hit back though with a converted try five minutes from time to virtually seal the game and regain their 17 point advantage.
Coalville threw all they had left at the now tiring hosts and were rewarded with two tries from Upton-Burton and George Blackburn
and a conversion from the touchline by Syed. One last surge from the visitors had the home side defending a 5 metre scrum but has the line beckoned the ref called full time to deny Coalville at least a draw.
Coalville are at home this saturday against Oakham kick off 3pm preceded by a VP luncheon.
