Unrelenting weather not enough to stop Coalville gaining another 5 points

A very wet Memorial ground was the stage for the visit of Notts Casuals at the weekend as Coalville maintained top spot in Midlands 2 East(North) with a convincing win by 43 points to nil, scoring seven tries in the process.
Coalville made several changes from last weeks game with Isaac Grewcock,Stewart Tang,Jordan Gadsby,Jamie Grant,Daniel Claypole and Tom Clare all added to the squad.
After a slow start with both sides struggling with handling errors the hosts broke the deadlock as Joe Rumming crashed over the whitewash on 15 mins after picking up from the base of a scrum shaking off several would be tacklers in the process,Will Keeling added the extra two points.Coalville piled on the pressure winning good territory with some pinpoint kicking and forcing the visitors into panic mode. The hosts dominating the scrums time and again scored the second try on 22mins Rumming again the scorer,Keeling adding the conversion for 14-0.The visitors came more into the game after the score putting a few phases together but it came to nothing as the Coalville defence held firm.Coalville's forwards led by captain Sam Massarella were on a mission making metre after metre towards the Casuals line and Jake Moretta claimed the try,Keeling once again adding the extra's 21-0.
After the break Keeling got the hosts bonus point try as Coalville rang the changes,Henry Rotstein,Daniel Claypole and Tom Clare on for Moretta,Will Quail and Gaz Turner.Coalville carried on the momentum with man of the match Jack Follows charging through the Notts defence to set up Grewcock in the corner.Casuals try as they might couldn't hold the hosts as Ash Lynds combined with Liam Nelson and Jack Wickwar to send Zak Fellows over also in the corner. The icing on the cake for Coalville the seventh try scored by Gadsby converted by Keeling bringing his points tally to 13 and Coalvilles victory by 43 points to nil.
A spokesman for Coalville said after the game"a good all round team performance this the forwards dominating in the set pieces and in the loose and the backs who attacked with verve and defended with aplomb, and credit goes to Casuals for their application and sportsmanship, also to the referee who controlled the game well".
