The return of a legend & our newer players get stuck in.

Best TEAM performance for a long time
Today started with snow. It looked cold and wet outside and it took a lot of persuasion to get some of the kids out to play Rugby. All the Mini's teams were due to make the trek over to Tamworth and fortunately by the time we got there, the snow had stopped & the sun had come out & it was starting to warm up a bit.
We were told we were right at the very far pitch & so had to make the trek across what seemed to be a cross between a country park, a couple of Rugby pitches & also a couple of mud baths.
After around 5 mins we made it to the bottom of the park where we were due to play. We were right next to the railway line, so the kids had fun watching the Intercity 125's fly by every 10 mins. We were hoping this would not be too distracting during the game.
Despite the weather we managed to have 16 players. An amazing number!! Tamworth had 11, so this meant unfortunately we could only play one game and a lot of player rotation on our part to make sure that everyone plays.
Unfortunately, one of ours forgot his gum shield which meant he sat out today. Lesson learned I hope.
We also welcomed back one of our former players who left us at the end of the Under 9's. He was a tenacious as ever and 2 seasons away has not dulled his appetite for Rugby.
Coalville dominated most of the territory for most of the game and scored several fantastic tries. The most pleasing this today though was our working together as a team. We passed the ball really well across the pitch. We defended well & got some of our newer players on the score sheet. Everyone got good game time!!
To finish, there was sausage & chips & also cake!!!
Looking forward to next week!!
