Coalville can’t back up solid first half performance with a strong Harborough come back

Coalville welcomed second in the table Market Harborough to the Memorial ground at the weekend in which Coalville took the game to their high flying opponents from the start. The hosts had to make several changes to the squad due to injuries and unavailabilities but they put in a fair show well into the game before Harborough finally got their act together to run out victors.
Coalville took the lead on 15 mins with Joe Moretta scoring in the corner for a five pointer after some prolonged forwards play. The home side piled on the pressure with some great play from forwards and backs alike pushing the visitors well into their own 22 on many occasions but when it looked all on for a home score an interception by the Harborough winger brought the scores level after half an hour. From the restart though Coalville won the ball back and seeing a gap in the visitors defence Danny Freer nipped through to touch down quickly followed by a break from a scrum Matt Chamberlain made good ground to send Jordan Gadsby on a 35 metre run avoiding several tacklers to touch down to the right of the posts,Will Keeling added the extra's for the hosts to lead 17-5 at the break.
The second period started well for the home side as Freer notched his second try of the game to gain the 4 try bonus point and a 17 point lead. With 60 minutes gone the visitors got a lifeline as a series of knock ons from both sides and the ball pinging about like in a pinball machine the ball some how ended up in Coalvilles ingoal area where the visitors winger once again won the race to touch down. This set back knocked all the stuffing out of the home side as fatigue set in Harborough went on to score two more converted tries and a penalty to add insult to the result for a final score of 29-22.A spokesman for Coalville said"a tale of two halves but all credit to Harborough for their endeavour and their reluctance to give up when they were down by 17 points".Coalville will be away at Oakham next week kick off 2-15pm
