Another strong second half performance proves too much to a gutsy Kesteven squad

Coalville welcomed Kesteven to the Memorial Ground at the weekend hoping to avenge the defeat from earlier in the season.
The game kicked off and Coalville were soon looking dangerous with some strong running and great support play by the pack who appeared in rampant mood.
Man of the match Will Clare stamped his authority on the proceedings with some awesome tackling and carries early on. The hosts opened the scoring with Liam Nelson on the end of a lineout move from 25mtrs with barely 2 mins on the clock. This great start however petered out as the visitors took control of possession keeping the host share of the ball somewhat limited for the next 20 mins, knocking over 2 penalties in the process to lead 6-5. Normal service was resumed on the half hour when George Blackburn dummied his way through from 25 metre's out for a 7 pointer, but as previously Coalville were starved of any decent ball by the visitors and the scoreboard remained 12-6 at half time.
The interval talk from coach Ben Toft again worked wonders as Coalville turned on the magic for 20 mins crossing the whitewash 3 times, the first from numerous 5mtre scrums where Matt Twigg finally broke the Kesteven resistance crashing over G.Blackburn adding the extra`s. The second one was a complete team score from inside their own half reminiscent from days gone by as forwards and backs had hands on the ball at some point with Twigg touching down in the corner. The third try came from mounting pressure in the visitors 22 as Joe Moretta once again ran the perfect line only to find his opposite number on all fours blocking his path. After hurdling the obstacle his pass found G.Blackburn in space to glide over the try line for 29-6 lead.Kesteven came more into the game at this point as heavy rain came down which seemed to affect the hosts more than the visitors who put some good moves together but strong defence kept them out. Not to be outdone by brother Joe,Jake Moretta`s fine tap tackle almost certainly stopped a try for the visitors.
Coalville next in action away at local rivals Loughborough on 11th February ko 2.15pm.
