Coalville start the season with unconvincing win

Coalville started off the new season in Midlands 2 East North with a victory over Notts Casuals, scoring six tries to the visitors one with two tries each for Danny Freer and Joe Rumming and one a piece for Will Keeling and Jake Moretta.
After a slow start by the Memorial Ground side things picked up after 23 minutes as Freer and Rumming crossed the whitewash in a pulsating 10 minute spell to lead 10 nil at half time.
Keeling added to the score contributing all seven points just after the restart for 17-0.The visitors pulled three points back on 46minutes with a penalty. This preceded the visitors best spell, with the Casuals adding another penalty and a try to close the gap to 6 points. A Keeling penalty and a Rumming try just after the hour mark made the score a bit more comfortable, putting the home side back in the driving seat with a 27-11 advantage.
Ben Toft, Coalville`s Director of Rugby for his second season, rang the changes on 70 minutes in. On came Henry Rotstein, Henry Bolt and Liam Nelson, replacing Chris Flanagan, Eddie Rotstein and Michael Richmond respectively.
Two late tries from Freer and Moretta sealed the victory 39-11, with the score line somewhat flattering the homeside after a mixed performance.
After the game Coalville captain Will Quail said "Good victory today but a bit scrappy at times but lots of room for improvement".
Coalville`s next game is away at Southwell on 23rd Sept kick-off 3pm.
