A below par performance leaves Coalville with underwhelming win

Coalville gained their third win of the season at home to Ashbourne on Saturday to remain unbeaten. However a mistake filled performance meant the visitors pushed the Memorial ground side all the way, scoring four tries to the home sides three. The difference between the 2 sides being the boot of Will Keeling with two penalties and two conversions.
Coalville got off to a flier scoring with their first attack as Michael Richmond touched down in the corner after forwards and backs had a hand in the move,Keeling adding the extra two points for 7-0.With rain falling throughout the match handling became extremely difficult with many passes being dropped or misplaced resulting in a very scrappy affair.
Ashbourne opened their account after half an hour with the home side down a man due to a sin bin,the visitors capitalized on this with a unconverted try 7-5.An injury to Alex Collins brought on Jake Moretta before the half time break as Coalville added a penalty from Keeling to stretch the lead to 10-5.
The visitors levelled the score just after the restart only for Coalville to quickly regain it again when Jake Moretta went over two minutes later, once again Ashbourne returned the favour levelling up matters 17-17.End to end play now with both sides squandering chances galore in the wet conditions, but on sixty-nine minutes Keeling punished the visitors with a well struck penalty to edge them in front, followed shortly after by another Jake Moretta try for a 25-17 score line with eight minutes left on the clock.Ashbourne threw everything at Coalville now and were rewarded with the final score in the corner the conversion was good for a 25-24 to the home side.Coalville are away at Pinley on sat 7th oct(cup)
