The Memorial Ground team are now the only undefeated side in the league after seeing off Bridgford’s strong first half showing

Coalville welcomed league leaders West Bridgford to the Memorial Ground last Saturday looking to continue their unbeaten start to the season.
West Bridgford kicked off down the slope but with a strong wind against them. However despite unfavourable conditions, they were the first to put points on the board with a well worked move resulting in a converted try on 9 minutes. This lead was short lived as some clever kicking put Coalville in the visitors 22 and from a scrum, Danny Freer squeezed over the line for the try with Will Keeling added the extra`s. With Coalville now using the conditions to remain in Bridgford territory, Joe Rumming, making his return after a week long injury lay off, made the most of a maul to crash over for another try some 10 minutes later.
With the hosts now in ascendancy, Coalville scored their 3rd try starting from a scrum 30 metres out. After a couple of quick phases and good hands from the backs, Joe Moretta put Myles Griffin into space with the latter finishing off the move down the right wing with Keeling once again on target with the conversion. The visitors clawed their way back into the game after a well worked counter attack from loose Coalville kicking resulted in a try from the pacy opposition 7 just before the interval took the score to 19-12. It could have been worse for the hosts as from the restart Bridgfords No 8 strolled over the whitewash only for Coalville fullback Griffin to tap tackle him and in doing so dropped the ball resulting in no score but a 5 meter scrum.
Bridgford started the second period at a cracking pace forcing the hosts into a series of errors and conceding a number of penalties one of which was converted to reduce the Coalville lead to just 4 points with 44 minutes gone.
Credit to Coalville`s defence as they weathered the storm and controlled the next quarter with Matt Twigg calling the shots. On 55 minutes, the hosts got the bonus point try with Twigg cleverly dotting down after jumping over a ruck close to the line. Keeling adapted to the conditions well, slotting a low conversion to make it 26-15. Freer’s second try of the game wrapped it up for Coalville 5 minutes from time, with backs and forwards defying the conditions with slick offloading to combine for the try of the game for a full time score of 31-15.
Coalville captain Will Quail said after the win "Great all round squad performance against a well drilled side today".
Coalville are next in action on 28th October at home to Olney in the Intermediate Cup ko 2pm.
