Coalville welcomed Newark to the Memorial ground last Saturday looking to avenge the defeat by the visitors earlier in the season. As of the previous week the hosts were still short of key players due to injuries and unavailability. The ground conditions were still very soft underfoot and cut up badly hampering any sort of continuity from both sides as tempers flared Coalville lost a player to the sin bin after only 10 minutes play followed shortly by a Newark player who suffered the same fate.Half time came with the scores level at 0-0.Sam Gadsby came on just after the break as tempers flared once again but this time it was the red card which were shown one to each side. With half an hour to go Coalville took the lead as Joe Rumming went over near the corner with an unconverted try 5-0.A quick reply for the visitors resulting in a successful penalty 5-3.Joel Wallace and Joel Pennington came off the bench for the hosts as another red for the visitors on 73 mins put them under the cosh as Stewart Tang scored Coalville`s 2nd try for 10-3.With time running out and with nothing to loose Newark went all out for the leveller, but once again Coalville`s defence held out although loosing three players to the sin bin in the final few minutes.
