The Memorial Ground side played hosts to relegation threatened Oakham at the weekend and turned on the style running in eleven tries in the process with Josh Breen accounting for three of them.Oakham were the first to show with some nifty forwards play but lacked the finishing prowess to cross the whitewash as the hosts defence held firm. With eight minutes on the clock Breen scored in the corner after Coalville's backs pulled the Oakham rearguard apart. One way traffic ensued as Coalville dominated play for the rest of the half as Eddie Rotstein,Breen,Joe Rumming,George Blackburn and Shane Upton-Burton all crossed for tries,Blackburn added three conversions to make the half time score of 36-0.
The second half started as the first finished with the home side in mesmerising form from forwards and backs alike taking their opponents apart at will.Rumming,Blackburn,Breen and Liam Nelson all on the score sheet before the hour mark was up,Blackburn added three conversions and Will Keeling one.Two injuries to Oakham's front row meant it went to uncontested scrums for the rest of the match. Two yellow cards for the hosts gave the visitors a glimmer of hope to get on the scoreboard, which they nipped in with two converted tries in as many minutes.Coalville hit back from the restart with Nelson rounding off a sintilating move to bag their highest score of the season.Just enough time left for Oakham to add the final score with a simple try under the posts.
Coalville travel to league leaders Olney this saturday kick-off 3pm.
