Coalville returned to winning ways at the weekend when they defeated Notts Casuals 29-24 in a closely fought game.The Memorial ground side found themselves 21-5 after half an hours play.The hosts set off at an electrifying pace crossing the whitewash after two minutes for a seven pointer.Henry Rotstein struck back with a well worked try on ten minutes though.The gale force wind was playing havoc with any form of exit stratogies by the visitors as Casuals penned Coalville in their own 22 for long periods scoring two converted tries in the process.Coalville also lost Stewart Tang to the sin bin for ten minutes.Coalville gradually got the better of the conditions and with five minutes left of the half Joe Rummings and Stewart Tang both crossed for tries with Will Keeling adding one conversion to leave the visitors trailing by four points at the break.Half time change for the visitors Chris Flanagan on for Ash Lynds.
With the elements at their backs for the second half Coalville took to the task of turning the game round but Casuals had other idea's knocking a penalty over after forty-seven minutes to lead 24-17.Two more changes for Coalville,Will Quail on for Daniel Claypole and making
his first team debut Ben Phelps on for Michael Richmond.Another yellow card for Coalville as Rumming spent ten minutes in the sin bin.Coalville upped the anti on the hour mark when Jack Wickwar out paced the Casuals defence to touch down in the corner to bring them within two points.With ten minutes left Liam Nelson added Coalville's fifth try converted by Keeling who then left the pitch having made over thirty tackles during his stay.Coalville then saw the game out to claim the five points and keep them in the promotion race.
Coalville are at home on the 8th February against Ashfield with a 2.15pm ko.
